Subject: | FLASH: preview, publish, alternate GIF problems |

Hi all....
I have a couple of problems with publishing a little 120x120 flash box:
I want the user to either see the Flash movie (if Flash is installed) or an
animated GIF (if Flash is NOT installed). In Publish Settings I have it as
"Flash 4 with image", but when I set it to publish and upload it to our
server and test it on a box with no Flash, a popup dialog appears offering
me to download content from Macromedia, trust content from Macromedia, you
know the type. I never see the animated GIF. If I click on "NO" to close
the window, the Flash content appears, anyway! I want the user to either
see the Flash or the GIF, but not have to download some new component in the
middle of something else. This happens in IE, not Netscape. In Netscape,
even without Flash installed, the movie plays anyway.
I guess what I want to know is if there's a consistent, confident way to
publish Flash/HTML hybrid pages with an alternate animated GIF that will be
transparent and inobtrusive to the user.
The second part of my problem is kinda weird. I can't see ANY flash content
on my local machine on IE. I get a security warning:
"This page provides potentially unsafe information to an ActiveX control.
Your current security settings prohibit running controls in this manner. As
a result, this page may not display correctly."
I can see flash content online, but NOT from my local drive files. This
only happens in IE.
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
