Subject: FLASH: Quicktime firsttime
From: stuart mayhew

Hi please could you read this and tell me what I've
mixed up? This is the first time I have used quicktime
in flash and I cannot find anything on this subject in
the tutorial sites

imported the quicktime movie into the library,
linked movie to path in properties option,
dragged it into a new movie clip symbol
added necessary extra frames.
I was thinking I could use this movie clip as an
instance
and target it with mouse events (using tell target)
from the main time line
movie.
So...

then I dragged this movie clip into the parent movie
and made it the target for the interaction.
But when I do this, on export, as quicktime, I don't
get anything.

I basically cannot create a movie clip of the
Quicktime
that operates as an instance to target. Have I been
doin' it wrong?

Isn't it possible to treat a quicktime movie as a
target like this?

And if you're not too bored, how about...

I tried load movie but this seems to require the time
line
to be as long as the loaded movie.
I want the movie to jump around independent of the
parent time
line on mouse events.
I've designed an interface with buttons that float in
and out over a few
frames
and when using load movie the movie's responding to
mouse events
which I want only to effect the parent movie.

Any advice would be most excellent like a on line
tutorial name!

thanks for any help in this
