The common conception is that ASP out performs perl.
I've never seen any scientific comparisons, but ASP is
streamlined for web database work and CGI certainly
isn't, so I think the common conception would be right...

I keep a bunch of asp links at
www.neometrixsystems.com/cainus/

under "web dev/ASP" in the menu...

Perl doesn't really imbed in HTML like ASP, and doesn't
come with native database support (AFAIK) which makes
it a little more difficult to work with, too.
