Here's my painstaking, but flash-only method for text around a circle.

My explanations are lenghty but the technique itself is a snap to use...


1) Start by drawing 2 short intersecting lines, so that you have a

snapping point. This should be the center of your (invisible) circle.


2) Place one letter at a good distance from that crosspoint (the

distance of your invisible circle's radius).


3) Adjust the font and size, etc. Also make sure you setup that textbox

(containing one letter) to be centered-text, not align-right or

align-left.


4) Using the arrow tool, select the textbox. Go to Modify/Transform/Edit

Center. Click on the white crosshair and move them up to the crossed

lines you put down in 1). Your letter's center for rotation is now the

crosshair.


5) Hit Control-C (or Edit/Copy), then use the rotate tool to rotate the

letter to the left. You'll notice that it rotates around the

centerpoint.


6) Hit Control-Shift-V (or Edit/Paste in Place), and you have a new

textbox for the next letter. Replace the letter in it, then rotate it

left, next to the previous one.


7) Repeat step 6 with all remaining letters.


It's probably faster to go to freehand or illustrator, but I personally

think that Flash's interface is much more conducive to creative

experimentation than any of the old school illustration programs...
