RE: FLASH: include a symbol in a scene

If your symbol is animated, it should be saved as a movie clip. You'll find

it in the library for your movie from the Window..Library menu (Not in the

generic libraries under the Libraries menu). First find your symbol in the

library for this movie. Verify it is a movie clip by the film strip with

arrow icon. If it isn't a movie clip, double click on its name and set its

behavior to movie clip.


Now, make sure that you have a frame selected and that the layer you want to

put it on is the current one. The current layer will have a boldfaced label

and the pencil icon. If all your layers have hand icons and none of the

labels are bold, then you have no current layer. Click on the label of a

layer to make it current. If you already have some frames defined, right

click on the frame where you want to put the movie clip and select "insert

keyframe" or press F6, otherwise just click on the first frame to select it.


Finally, drag your movie clip from the preview window in the library onto

the stage. In order to see it in action, go to Control and select Test

Movie. Movie clips won't display if you try to play them in the editor.
