Flash works with Internet Explorer for the Macintosh.

Internet Explorer uses the Flash plug-in (either "Shockwave Flash NP-PPC" or "Shockwave Flash NP-68K" depending on your processor) rather than any ActiveX control (as IE Windows uses).

In order to display Flash SWF files locally through Internet Explorer for the Macintosh, you must view them through the Personal Web Server software installed on your Macintosh, using the http://localhost reference. In other words, if your Flash file is stored in your "MyFiles" folder, then this URL will work properly:

http://localhost/MyFlashFile.swf

This URL will not work properly:

file://Macintosh HD/MyFiles/MyFlashFile.swf

For assistance configuring your Personal Web Server, use either the Personal Web Manager or Web Sharing control panel (depending on which web server software you have installed).
