Subject: FLASH: Poor quality sound when Sync=Stream
From: DeJarnett, Gary

I'm new to Flash, but cannot find this addressed in the manual or on my web
lookups.
My sound loop plays just fine, regardless of other settings, if I set the
Sync property of the sound to anything but "Stream". I want to use stream
to better synchronize the sound in the movie, but any time I choose
Sync=Stream in the property of the sound, I get a "static-y" sound mixed in
with the original sound. I am using Flash 4 (MP3 compression, but Raw has
same result).
I've heard that this is due to SoundBlaster emulation. Does that mean that
even if I get the sound straightened out on my machine with a new driver, on
other pc's it will probably have static in the sound with Sync=Stream? I
know that other Flashed sites I have visited have synchronized sound that
sounds good on this machine.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Gary
