Subject: RE: FLASH: QT in Flash
From: Gavin Prior

* Question 1 a) - goto here: http://www.flashbible.com/members/ for
Flash basics with buttons etc - and read the manual. there are tutorials in
the manual for this kind of thing. If it doesn't make any sense than mail
me directly and I'll send a quick explanation.
* Question 1 b) - your QT movie won't work in test mode. You have to
Publish your movie first to see the results. You can use your movie as it
is in Flash - Drag your movie to the stage and then drag the timeline out to
the end of your movie - So that you can see all the frames of the movie on
the stage (does this make sense?). Ok, here's the tricky bit that has been
said a few times here; You can create Flash elements which are then
published as a layer within a QT movie but you CANNOT play QT within the
Flash player - except as a bitmap sequence which is painfull to watch
(unless the movie is brought down to the size of a pee!)
* Question 3 - A flash published .swf file is cross-platform. As I
said the Flash element is a "layer" within the QT movie. Converting to AVI
would lose that layer. So, check the laptop that you are using and see if
it has Qt installed. IF not then go to Apples web site and download it.

Have fun!
