Subject: | FLASH: width of textblocks |

Hi list,
this seems to be a basic question, but i am pulling the rest of my hair out
because i just cannot find any solution. The handbook says nothing about
this, as far as i can see. Here it goes:
In order to have a set of texts with same width for my movie I am trying to
create a text block with a fixed number of pixels width.
My try just to do it by draging the little square with the mouse didn't
show any good result. If you click on the square there are two boxes one
around the text itsself and another bigger one around the whole thing. In
the very moment i click on the square the blocks width changes without
draging, and if i drag and release the mouse button the width is way off
the size i wanted it to be. I could not find any interdependence between
the width shown on the ruler and the real size of the box.
The other try was to do it with the inspector and type in another width.
The box got the right width, but the text inside was scaled and looking
horrible :-(
Can anybody explain the art of creating a textblock with fixed pixel width?
What is the meaning of the two boxes around the text?
Are there some properties i can adjust somewhere in the programme?
Thanks in advance,
Frank
