The idea is solid, but I'd prefer a version where the focus lay on the movement
of the menu-items, perfecting the circular motion in perspective and using
ease-in and out to give an impression of inertia.

The rapid spinning of the selected item is technically neat, but mostly annoying
from a user perspective - could you experiment with other ways of highlighting
the chosen item?
