Your experience with your University is not at all unique, and dont expect it
to get any better..... Univ's. are inept at dealing with the "real world"
market forces that their students will be in. And for a good reason: it
changes damn fast. They cant possibly keep up.

You have a year before you graduate, and you've been in three years. Six
years ago there wasn't any market for your skills because they didnt exist
yet. The market is going to change a lot even in the year you have left.

But dont fret. Learn all you can... if you like doing it. right now theres
lots of work for anyone that knows some or all of what you mentioned. Dont
kill yourself learning any one thing, follow your instincts and just do a lot
of stuff that you get off on.

You DONT have to just do free stuff for your U. though... if you want to bite
off some sort of low-pay project for someone put your feelers out in the real
world and ask for a remote internship. Do free work for someone that OUGHT to
be paying you... because theyll be better at telling you where youre going
wrong. Do that once or twice, and theyll even pay you something.
