FLASH: BEGINNER QUESTION

[NYFLEXX]

I'm IN my second week of flashing....please dont laugh....

I can't for the life of me figure out this:  

I need a simple step by step instruction on how to make an animated 

layer...such as a text layer....or any thing that moves around on the page 

....into a button so that no matter where you click it it brings you too a 

link.....

I hate to say this, but please spell it out.....( for instance..do I have to 

make the layer into a button, then DELETE it from my animation and then 

repaste it when its a button....I just dont get it....)  Sorry...DUH thanks  

(can I select elements out of  preexisting  layered movie, or do I have to 

start out differently......?
