Flash does support font attributes for editable text fields that scroll.
I'd go that dierction if I were you.

The other option, inline with the question you asked, is to make the Up
button TellTarget a controller MC to play. Make the controller MC two
frames long. In frame 1 put your Tell Target>Text_MC>Previous Frame action,
and in frame put a Goto frame 1. This will cause the Goto previous frame
action to be executed repeatedly.

Hi everyone,

It's a pretty hefty download (395K split up over 6 swf), so be warned.

Now the first three sections are working, sort of. I have a MC of text that
"scrolls" in a mask. The movie is controlled by two buttons. The Down button
has a simple Tell Target>Text_MC>Play action. The Up button has a Tell
Target>Text_MC>Previous Frame. The problem with the Up button's action is
that it only goes one frame at a time. I need it to repeat so the Text_MC
has a scrolling upward feel to it.

Does anybody know how to do this or is this even possible? I am at a total
loss as to what to do.

BTW: I original had it working as a scrolling text field. But I needed to
add font atributes to the text (bold, color, size, etc) and Flash 4 doesn't
support that (right?).
