We are pleased to announce the release of FlashAmp, a new utility for 

Macromedia Flash based on the Amplitude Xtra for Macromedia Director. 

FlashAmp produces arrays of amplitude values from sound files that can be 

used in Flash to synchronize events to sound. FlashAmp is a stand-alone 

authoring utility for Flash - no additional software is required at 

runtime. 


FlashAmp supports a range of sound formats including AIFF, WAVE, MP3 and 

SWF. It can also generate audio cue point information from AIFF files.


A number of Demonstration .fla source files are available that contain 

all the actionscript you need to start using FlashAmp.


FlashAmp is available for both Windows and Macintosh computers. The 

unregistered version of FlashAmp can be downloaded for trial use and will 

generate partial arrays of amplitude values, the registered version 

generates complete arrays.
