Matinee used 3D Max and exported the animation in bitmap form then
converted the shapes to vectors and then optimized in Flash.

A better way is to export as a @D vector projection or outline depending
on the 3D program. Not all have this option yet.

A third way is to use a 3D animation as a model and completely draw the
animation in Flash.

And the final way is to create or import the first and last images of an
animation, then use Shape tweening on the individual elements to create
a tweened rather than Frame by Frame animation.

Most of the samples at http://members.xoom.com/desto/ were created in
Flash.

My Diamond Crystal was also created in Flash. It is composed of a set of
13 Shape Tweens to create a small file size (5K) that plays well at full
screen size. http://www.FlashCentral.com/Test/DiamondMorph.swf
