Can this be done without losing streaming and without explicitly using

Director Movies? My experience with Director predates my work with Flash and

was in another context entirely back in Director 5 or so, I believe. I

learned enough Lingo to script a cd-rom kiosk project for my then

brother-in-law but haven't revisited it since.

Tip: Hosting Flash within Shockwave within a browser is an easier way of

getting a powerful scripting language. This doesn't require that the

audience change their browser version, browser brand, or change from Mac to

Win or vice-versa.


You also get the benefit of smaller file size (Lingo is compiled, and takes

a twelfth the space of JavaScript), faster performance, control over media

streaming, fewer HTTP connection, much better compatibility... if you're

delivering intensively interactive rich-media experiences, then using

Shockwave and Flash together offers advantages over relying on the various

browsers' abilities alone.
