... and building off of Anthony's "hide it with a shape" suggestion, in

Flash 3 you can mask layers, so that you can gradually reveal the complete

line above a complex background.


(Rephrased, the complex curve is always whole, and you morph a masking

shape above it to gradually reveal the curve.)
