Hello n n n n
Being new you need to understand from day one that Flash uses a timeline and
not any form of scripting logic. It is possible to do what your asking in a
number of ways but the easiest would probably be to place the button into a
timeline which will run for five minutes, (an extremely long timeline) and
then place an action at the end of the timeline into the keyframe.
If you want a movie to pause for text, extend the timeline or stop the
playback and place a button to continue (I would suggest this approach as it
allows viewers with different reading speeds to continue at their leisure!

Subject: FLASH: Newbie questions
Hi everybody,
I'm new to this list and also to Flash 3.0. I encountered a few problems
and would like to seek advice from all of you.
1. I'm developing a flash demo that require user to click on the 'next
button' to proceed to next section, if the user do not click on the next
button and the flash demo has detected it has passed 5 minutes, it will
automatically go to next section. I know how to create the next button but
do not know what command to use for the auto-detection?
2. Is there any way to pause a frame for a few minutes (maybe a frame that
contains a lot of text where user needs time to read) before it continues
playing the rest of the frames?
Sorry for the newbie questions and TIA.
