Hi all-
I haven't been following the Flash screensaver discussion, but saw the last
message, and thought I would throw something out in case it hadn't been
mentioned.
Many people looking for cinemac type screensaver builders overlook the fact
that since Director (and Flash) projectors are just executibles, all you
really need is a gizmo to monitor downtime that knows what app to launch
after a certain period. I worked on a screensaver a while ago for a big
corporate client and found my needs met quite satisfactorily by a couple of
inexpensive apps that do just that. The Mac version is called Auto Launch,
or something like that, made by stclair software (www.stclairsoft.com, I
think - they make the great default folder as well). The PC version was
called AnySaver, and I forget exactly who makes it. Both developers were
super-helpful when it came to customizing their app, and AutoLaunch
actually developed into AutoLaunch Pro over the course of my project and a
similar one the developer was working on.
This is not to disparage the other screensaver-builders on the market, but
take a look at these. They were both very affordable solutions.
