My thoughts:
First they would have shot all the footage themselves using a strong
lighting effect from one side. This would have been the most important stage
as getting some strong shadows and highlights was crucial.
Then they would have edited the video footage to make the images more
contrasting using a video editing package.
Then they would have exported the video footage they required as a series of
still images and then imported them into flash.
They would have then traced each image using the trace bitmap function in
flash. (Under Modify/Trace Bitmap)
Well that is how I think they have done it anyway. I think it is a nice
effect but they did not need to use it so much. Very original which is
excellent.

Subject: FLASH: help with "video" effect
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could provide some insight into how they achieved
the "video" effect at egomedia.com. I'm assuming
that they traced over each frame of the actor in (illustrator or something)
from a video file and inserted it into a movie clip one keyframe at a
time...
does that sound about right to anyone? I've tried it but I can get quite
the
same effect. If anyone knows a method with results similar to egomedia.com
please forward it to me. Any and all input appreciated and thanx in advance
for your time. GrooveCD
