FLASH:How do I get movie clips to play in one or two frames?

I have been trying to figure out if there is any way to do the Director-like

way of playing movie clips where it loops in one frame or two until that

clip is done...and the advances on to the next clip.  Please let me know the

best way of doing this...and it also needs to be able to take variables in

while doing the looping.  Please help!!  Thanks again you genius people
