FLASH: browser support for shockwave

Can anyone tell me which browsers support which versions of Flash and which

browsers, if any , support dirctor shockwave?


My understanding is that level 4 or newer browsers play shockwave flash (3)

files,

but that shockwave director files always need to have a player downloaded.


Can you set me straight, or point me to a url?
