I keep wondering whether some people are missing a particular point.

Generator 1 Dynamic Graphics Server was $2,699.
Generator 2 Server is $2,999. ($1,499 upgrade).

BUT:

Generator 1 Developer's Studio -- the "authoring templates" -- cost $179 as an
upgrade to Flash 3.

... whereas ...

The authoring templates for Generator 2 are available *for free* as a download
from macromedia.com ... just follow the links logically, and choose the
authoring templates to download.
