no.. there definitely isn't anything being imported.. doesn't matter if i have
the frame selected or not, Flash pretends to import the .ai or .eps file and
creates another layer which it names layer 1.. so after several attempts with
different files, i'm left with a half dozen empty "layer 1's" :(

also, i'm sometimes able to copy (edit-copy) a drawing from illustrator and
paste it directly into Flash, but that only seems to work about 1 out of 10
times.. when it doesn't, i get the same error... another empty layer 1....

as it's 5:30 in the morning here, maybe it's time to sleep... :)
