Hi Kevin, welcome to the list.
I use flash over Shockwave (Director) when I want more
vector content with less overhead. What I mean by that is
Flash is Vector based, where Director is bitmap based.
Vectors are mathamatical. So they are lean on file size,
thus smaller files, faster to stream and download.
Direct has the awlsome power of Lingo.
Flash 4 now has more language by it is a smigit compared
to Director's lingo and xtras.
You can also import Flash into Director.
Flash also creates a projector that is considerable smaller
that Directors Stand a lone projector.
Shockwave is certainly alive and doing well.
Again Flash and Director are like comparing
chickpeas to watermelons.
Lucky for you that MM created Flash because the
learning curve, scripting & price for Director is more than most
can bare.
