This was incorrectly written in the manual. The piece you quote is
meant to refer to the 3 special fonts listed at the top of your font
drop-down list. Using any of those 3 fonts (_typewriter,_serif and
_sanserif ) will cause Flash to use fonts from the viewers system that
are similar to the ones on your system but not necessarily the same.
