FLASH: PHP integration

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge on working with PHP and Flash?

I'm working with someone who is advanced in the area of PHP and I have some

knowledge of Flash. I'd like to implement some of the PHP features we have

on our existing sites into Flash. To start with something as simple as

producing the 'date' would help me to understand how flash communicates with

the server.
