Spinners are one of the very first things explained in the Max tutorial
manual, as in page 1 through 5. Standard Windows spinners are numeric
values with adjacent up-down arrows. Clicking an arrow increments or
decrements the value. This functionality was extended slightly by
the makers of Max to allow you to click-drag-up to increase the value,
or click-drag-down to decrease the value more quickly and easily than
single clicks on the arrows.
