I always do this in PhotoShop or Fireworks, I always use PNG and I update the imported image. I understand if you make your graphics in Flash to start with it can be a real pain. However I always use another Graphics package. Firstly because I find Flash so limited at least until Version five and second I use the other packages allot and know them well. Now version five takes DXF I am very happy as I am an AutoCAD user in a big way. I find that the file size is not so bad working like this and as more and more people go to broad band connections soon file size will not be an issue.
The new Save for Web option in PhotoShop 5.5 is a God send. It means that you can create transparency by selection of area not of colour, you have to save as PNG 24 but it means that things are now possible that were not before or would have least taken hours to work around.

I am in the middle of working on a site for a Guy in the USA the animation is not that great as I only flat JPEG to work with but you are all welcome to take a look. It is all done with Flash 4. I have only done one game so far and that is a simple jigsaw, I shall be using Flash five for the rest of the games we have in mind. The site is at www.earlthesquirrel.com
All comment welcome

Neither one of these is the issue.

Something else I discovered: This _seems_ to be happening on symbols that I
have flipped horizontally on the stage. This has worked for me before, but
not now, and I've even already had this problem on Flash 5... so what gives?
