Darren,

Sorta figured out a pseudo workaround. If I change this line:

codebase="http://active.macromedia.com/flash2/cabs/swflash.cab#version=4,0,0
,0"

to:

codebase="http://active.macromedia.com/flash2/cabs/swflash.cab#version=5,0,0
,0" AND it is the first time that instance of IE accesses that page, it will
autoupdate and allow the Flash movie to play without rebooting.

Hopefully for most people this will be the case as they will be accessing my
movie through a link from an e-mail.

It would seem that way on the PC, most programs that install an active-x ask
for
a reboot. I don't know if this is so it can be initialized by the OS on
startup,
or to enter it into some table or something. Also during the reboot, you
will
probably see some message on the DOS screen saying something to the effect
of:
Updating Windows, please wait, etc.
