I'm on the WIN end of things..... so, I think the file itself was the issue,
but now I'm starting to notice some other images that are doing this, and I
was starting to think it was something to do with my system, but then I
tried it on another, and the same image had the same problem.... but it
seems to be images created on a MAC...

An evern better way to check for file types is to use Sherlock. Search for
file type, drag the suspect file to the window and the file type will
appear...
