Well, just as in Flash it's easier and nicer to avoid the wait
altogether... if you design for streaming then visitors won't have to see
the Shockwave Player's built-in progress bar.
In Director, don't start out with a very complex movie, because Shockwave
loads all instructions before starting to play and stream in descriptions.
(The SWF file format interleaves instructions and descriptions.) In both,
if you start the presentation with simpler media elements then this can
allow more complex media descriptions to download in the background.
