The method he suggested, if I recall correctly, is to use the
'publish settings' to fix the dimensions of the entire movie.
With the entire movie having fixed-size, none of it will scale.
Many people seem to find this to be the best option when
trying to avoid scale-related distortions in bitmaps.
If you're using Flash 5 I think there is a way that you can
actually figure out the size of a specific object in pixels, and
shrink its x and y scale to matches the desired size. Some
Flash 5 guru will know better than I do though. Sorry I
don't even remember if the original question involved Flash
4 or Flash 5, though my answer assumed Flash 4...
