Hi,
I've always been able to import the models from 3dCafe and other sites. I
think you should check that there are no hardware/software conflicts going
on in your system. An elementary suggestion though, would be to make sure
that when you try to import your .3ds use the special button for that
purpose. I've had no problems with the models from that site and any
others. Check it out.
