First off what edition of flash are you working with 4 or 5.
If the test worked it "should" work on your designed piece.
Check your script...make sure your labels and tell target syntax is correct.
If you are viewing this online or in streaming mode it's a possibility that
the portion of the timeline that you are jumping to has not loaded therfore
breaking your flash piece. Evaluate the scene (file size)you want to jump
to and make sure it is available to view. You may also preview the piece
with the bandwidth profiler to view the actual progression of the timeline
when the button is pressed. If it doesn't move or progress it's your script:
On(release)
Begin Tell target("/")
go to and play (label)
End on
Hope this helps
Manuel

Subject: FLASH: why does this work and then not...
Hi.
I recently posted a item about.. jumping scene in a movie ...
I have a clip with a button and needed to jump to a new scene..
I was told to basically use a lable and then use actionscript
to go back to the main target line and jump to the label..
I did a small test and it worked fine...
a button
a movie which had the button inside it
a graphic...
but they when i apply this to my half designed site.. it just does not
work..
what could be the problem.... ?
i happy to send the flash file to anyone who is interested in telling why it
does not work...
currently designed in flash 4
many thanks.. and pre thanks yous to anyone whos post replies..
regards nick
