er, yup. Vector plugs never *really* caught fire.
As far as the catch-up to FreeHand thing, FreeHand was playing catch up
to CorelDRAW at the time the Illustrator plug-ins came to light. Draw
was among the first of the drawing apps to cram all that gobbledegook
(like enveloping) into the box.
FWIW, Corel is still selling KPT Vector Effects. Who knows what they
might do with Bill's money (and without Cowpland).
And ya know, I could've sworn I saw a new vector plug-in back at
MacWorld NYC this past summer ...

Wicked ideas, Jeremy! It would be wonderful to create optimized vector
effects like this.
Hmmmm ... time to find some engineers ...
