I guess I'm going to have to start thinking in a whole new way. I assume
that using the object paths rather than Tell Targets is going to make the
output Flash 5 only, not Flash 4, which is okay, as long as I know that
is my target audience.

Does this mean that an MC without a stop action [i.e., one that would
loop in Flash 4] will play only once by default in Flash 5? Or do you
just mean that it will execute when that frame is re-entered? I'm
thinking here of an MC that loads on the time line in frame 1 and stays
on the stage through the end of the scene, eg.
