Subject: FLASH: please help my MC get to point:-)
From: jerome cordiez

hi there,
I'm working on something I thought would be quite simple...I still beleive
it is, but I can't get it to work correctly.... here it comes: I have a
simple object (a mc) I would like the user to move where he wants by simply
clicking on the location (anywhere on the stage) he want the MC to go
to....And the user should see the MC moving, of course:-)...
Here's what I do:
*Getting current position of object (x1 and y1)
*retrieving "click position" using a hidden, dragged mc, locked on mouse...
(x2 and y2)
*x2-x1 and y2-y1 gives me the position differences of the 2 points

...and here is where I get stuck....

*I try to move the object by a percentage of the difference I
have...repeating this action until this difference equals zero...

I don't know... I can't figure it out...I must be tired or pretty useless
today I guess...But I can't make it:-)...So, I was wondering if anyone had
done this before, or knew where I could find a tutorial, a source file,
anything, explaining this... (I've checked out flashkit....didn't find
it...) I would really appreciate any help.
thanks for your help,

Jerome
