I agree with John very strongly here...
His words may have been a bit strong, but the point was clear. The fear of
learning new things has kept a lot of people back over the years. Yes,
there have been a lot of posts about problems with Flash 5, this is mostly
because Flash 5 is so new and so different. If myself, or the other people
who are working with Flash 5 successfully had time to pull ourselves away
from the product to post our success stories, I think your email from this
list would double! A sale is a sale, yes, but the simple fact of the matter
is that 5 > 4... Flash 5 has bugs, so does every program out there. Some of
them are really annoying, but then again so is the Blue Screen of Death. I
have been coding with Flash since verison 3 and I have to say, I can work a
*lot* faster in 5 then I ever could in previous versions. Yes, I am a
programmer, but the artists I work with have also discovered the same thing.
It will take time, and more than a little annoyance, but its worth it. It
is sad when people don't want to move forward to bigger and better things
for no good reason.
