Time to come out of the closet I guess and actually post to the group. I'll
confess first up that most of the posts go "whoooooosh" (straight over my
head).
Being on "forced leave" from the day job last month (too much leave
accrued - sad huh) , I finally, after promising myself for over a year,
decided to sit down and learn Flash. Having both Flash 4 and 5, I decided to
try and learn Flash 4 first. I ploughed my way through the Visual Quick
Start Guide (cover to cover) and can probably manage the basics with the
assistance of some additional tutorials I've found. My plan was to progress
to 5 after *mastering* 4. My dilemma is that getting my head around the
scripting side of things will be a real challenge (not even a programmers
bootlace!). I need another book - but one that explains not only what to
do, but why I'm doing it.
One of my fave pastimes is *playing* with new software - but I tried to be a
little disciplined for a change.
So having read about the differences between the 2 versions ..... should I
skip straight to 5 or persevere with 4? Are there any recommended books
available for 5 yet?
