I know I sound like a wuss here, but the documentation can help! Check

through the entries under "array" in the dictionary, and run a small test

of each function in a testing movie.... just make it in a frame script, use

the "trace" statement to see what you're getting, and preview to check

values.


Tip: Watch out for manipulating lots and lots of data at once. Strings are

usually among the slowest data types to manipulate, so parsing a large text

file could be a big hit.


Tip: Once you can visualize the type of incoming data structure you'll

have, and the outgoing data display you'll create, try a few test movies

first with just a small sample of data... oftentimes by sleeping on a few

experiments you'll come up with an easier and cleaner way to set up a

structure.


Just two cents, and your mileage may vary, but hope these observations of

others' experience could help some in this case.
