Subject: FLASH: to use flash or not!!???!?!?
From: Sean JC Lancaster

i am currently building a cd-rom using html, javascript and flash (i am
thinking of including netscape with their permission-then there would be
no pluggin to install). the thrust of this piece of software is to use
about 75-100 (1 mb) quicktime movies to have kids with mild disabilities
teach their peers to use self-advocacy skills. i am only using flash for
the navigation buttons and section introductions (there are 6 sections and
i think flash can make these introductions seem more professional than
regular gifs or plain html). i am just wondering if maybe i am too
wrapped-up in flash. do i really need to use it? i could use javascript
with roll-over for the navigation and i could export flash to quicktime
for the introductions. i just want to know if i appear to only be using
flash because i like it and it is new to me.
to see a sample (netscape users only - i took out the code for IE because
the movie was extremely small???) go to:
http://busboy.sped.ukans.edu/~sean/sh003.html
i have disabled the button actions. thanks for any feedback, flashers.

p.s. i am using this to do a study on whether kids can learn a strategy
from each other on cd-rom as well as they do from their teacher (who
usually don't have time to teach the strategy).
