Answer to 1.

Put a STOP action on the last frame of the movie or movieclip.  There is also a Publish setting (on the last tab, I believe) just below where you set the movie size.  Make sure Loop is not checked.


I'll leave question 2. to someone else.  I usually use the default 12 fps.  If I want to speed up the action, I just make the tweens shorter.
