FLASH: Exporting data from Flash 4

I'm not a user of Flash 4 but our designers are .... I'm asking this

question because I need to know

the technical answer to our problem.


I want our designers to build a flash4 movie that allows a user to move

images around - for eg: pieces on a

chess board - I want to extract the location of the pieces from Flash - or

at least get flash to export what I need.


I believe this is possible but I need to know how the data is presented by

Flash ? and also how I can return information

to the movie.
