FLASH: changing symbol type

This is something that I've noticed lately:


When I have a set of buttons in a menu, and I want to disable a button in a

certain frame after a click, I generally change its state from a button to a

graphic.  Something that I have noticed after I do this- the image appears

to shift slightly.  I only notice when viewing the movie.  As I'm merrily

clicking along, I can see the symbol "hop."  Has anyone else experienced

this and is there a reason for it?  Thanks.
