Subject: FLASH: Loading Text from .txt/Load Movie problems
From: Brian Mays

I'm not sure this can be done, but I'm trying it anyway. Unfortunately
I've run to my wit's end.

I've got a .swf (content.swf) that is calling up info from a .txt file
into a text field and placing it into content.swf. I've got this
working with no problems using Load Movie to call the .txt file into the
.swf.

I want to bring content.swf into my main Flash movie (mainmovie.swf). I
have a series of buttons nested in a movie clip I'm using to call
content.swf into a placeholder movie clip on the stage of
mainmovie.swf. I'm using the Load Movie action and targeting it to
placeholder.

This is where I have problems. Not one time have I been successful
getting it to call up with the textfield content. I've been able to
call content.swf up fine when deleting the textfield (there is a graphic
above the text field, and it shows up fine).

Is this possible? Trying to do a Load Movie on another file you've
already used a Load Movie on?
I've got a workaround or two to try, but this would be very handy--it
would allow the client to change content simply by editing a text file.

If I need to clarify anything else I'd be happy to.

Thanks,
Brian Mays
