At this point - definitely Flash in my opinion. Flash is more widely
distributed than Shockwave for Director and with the hard-core programming
capabilities in Flash 5, it's a better option overall. I'm involved in
Flash game development most of the time now and I prefer Flash to Director
- especially with new features of F5 such as arrays and complex math and
OOP capabilities. However, if you're willing to sacrifice the fact that
many will not have the Shockwave for Director plug-in and you need more
advanced features only available in Director such as netLingo, Director is
a good option as well. As Jason mentioned - depends on a number of factors
but Flash is definitely able to provide now very closely the needs of what
you only could do in Director - with a few exceptions...
