wow . . . as I was typing an answer to you I noticed that you emailed 'the
other' flash list too.
You'll probably get lots of response now, so we'll just forget about my
answer . . .

Hey all -- a streaming/client question...
Example first:
The static image is 15K, which is within the page weight constraints
(client signed off on page size). The flash animation (which must use
the bitmaps shown in the static image) is 25K, but streams. People
are uncomfortable about the 25K b/c it's over the limit. Any good
arguments?
Background:
I'm working on a number of smaller flash projects that include
bitmaps, each of which has a static equivalent that was designed
first. Obviously, I've done everything I can to optimize the bitmaps
when I bring them in, and kept alpha changes (and other space hogs)
to a minimum, but the filesize on the animations is always going to
be a little bigger than in the static.
Question:
My question is -- does anyone have a "formula" or rule of thumb to
compensate for the size difference? Since the animations usually have
a delay in front and stream, it seems that we should be able to go a
certain percentage over the approved K size, or find another
comparison...
I'm trying to develop a process for implementing rich media on those
projects where it's coming in as a later enhancement...
