Why not put it in a restricted access folder, assign passwords, and delete

access for users at a certain amount of time . . .


Enough function would have to be done by dynamically loading variables from

the protected directory so as to not allow the swf to function properly

without access to the  protected directory.


That's my two theories worth . . .

You'll have a pretty hard time identifying users as unique

individuals so as to distinguish between them and determine

who has tried it too many times and who has not.  This is

just the nature of the web.  You can try setting cookies, but

it won't work if the person has cookies turned off, or if they

delete their cookie (and it won't work if they switch

machines).  You can try logging IPs to a database, but most

people have dynamic IPs, so it's easy to lock the wrong

people out and let the wrong people in.  You could always

try a member's-only section, but that's only as secure as your

method of ensuring that each person only has one account.
