Subject: | FLASH: Player Installs Bogging Down? |

Well, about the time I've convinced the people here at Tech that the "plugin
problem" is not that big of a deal, and that the benefits of Flash are well
worth the plugin install, we are having plugin installation problems all
over the place. It seems when someone, during business hours, especially
afternoons, needs to upgrade to the v5 plugin for Explorer, they get to the
"When you see the Flash movie playing below...." page, but never get a
complete install.
The installer download for Netscape is working fine, but that's only good
for about 10% of our users. I can understand how traffic at MM must be
incredible these days, but that doesn't help me explain why users can't use
my web pages. Is this probably going to be an ongoing problem for a couple
of months? Anyone else having these problems?
We also have a group who is desperately needing the F5 Linux player. Any
ideas (John?) where we might be able to get one, even a beta build?
As always, thanks,
Gary (a3gddtechmail [dot] admin [dot] ttu [dot] edu)
